About Me:

Hello my name is Hien Nguyen.

I am Vietnamese-Australian and a citizen of the world, currently residing in Melbourne, Australia.

I love my life and cherish and deeply appreciate all the wonderful experiences and people that my travels around this beautiful planet bring me.

I am the child of Vietnamese immigrant parents who fled a home they loved after the ravages of war threatened their very physical existence. They risked all they had and all they were to travel across the ocean in search of a better life. I will always be deeply grateful to my beautiful parents for all that I have and all that I am here in this life.

I was born to be a healer, and my understanding of that word has changed throughout all of my young 26 years of existence. At times I feel that I stand with each of my two feet planted firmly in two worlds, one in a world engrossed and entranced by the physical and the other where Spirit is the single Reality.

I completed my medical training through the University of Melbourne, and the Austin Hospital. My early years of residency were at the Western Hospital, St Vincents Hospital (Melbourne) and the wonderful Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne). I have a passionate interest in all people, but my keen interest has been in helping the beautiful children through the fields of Paediatric Burns, General Surgery and Surgical Intensive Care.

My spiritual studies began 6 years ago where I intensively practised Kriya Yoga for 4 years under Satchitananda from Eastman, Quebec, a direct initiate of the Eminent Mahavatar Babaji Nagaraj through Yogi Ramiah. This path has gifted me many precious spiritual fruits and the practice remains with me always.  My most memorable and cherished spiritual memories remain my initiations in the ancient temples of south india, the eminent privilege of being able to meditate in the rooms of the illustrious Sri Aurobindo where he lived in Pondicherry, and my many indescribably blissful days spent at the feet of Sri Ramana Maharshi in Tiruvannamalai.

After taking a workshop in remote viewing in 2004, I discovered my heart-teacher and spiritual master in my Cherokee Elder and Grandmother, Pa'Ris'Ha. I now continue my studies of Space, Time, Energy and Life with her. The pinnacle of my studies is my life is as a Ceremonial Sundancer, where each and every day is in ceremony. Through our practice everyday we strive for  existence with the Sun. Through our service everyday we give bow ourselves and acknowledge to the Sun in others. And where these relationships meet, symbolised in our Dance each July, we begin to realise, that there is no you, no me, no anything, and it begins to shine through - that we are only ever the Sun.

As you can see, spiritually I feel I have been blessed beyond words in this lifetime.

Through my technical studies and my spiritual understandings I have come to some basic understandings of the world and myself:
- that we are not the body
- our existence remains as a multidimensional vibrational field of conscious awareness and thought that exists prior to and beyond the physical universe
- our experience is far beyond the body and  sometimes we must look far beyond the body to change or affect it
- that matter, time and mind exist inside the field of our energetic causal awareness and thus are subject to downward causation through it
- that as a spiritual being, i have the power to be a strong effect on the world around me through intention, communication and action

Currently, I am taking a brief sabbatical from my surgical residency to further reconcile my experiences of spirit with my medical training. I also hope to experience service on greater dynamics. I look forward to putting energy towards commercial and not-for-profit health initiatives and serving on a greater dynamic. I also hope to complete a Masters of Public Health at Harvard University in 2009.

Currently I also experience the power to be an effect to the world through community development projects for the disadvantaged via my Co-Directorship of the Centre for Human Development (Australia). Our projects include scholarship programs, food programs, cultural reaffirmation projects and leadership development programs throughout Indigenous and disadvantaged groups throughout Australia and New Zealand. These projects have challenged me to a much more multidimensional understanding health and wholeness which is beyond the physical.
